Many people were surprised to hear that Eva Marie was returning to the WWE. Back in October, word had come out about Eva Marie re-signing with the company the month prior. She had left the company to pursue an acting career, but not many opportunities came up. Thankfully, she had many endorsement and modeling deals to work with.
In an update on her status, Ringside News has reported that there is currently no talk on her return.
A tenured member of the creative team told the site that her name has not come up in meetings, as recently as Monday they were told that her name isn’t being brought up.
Obviously, there are pros and cons to Eva returning to the company. Some fans will remember her tenure on Total Divas and tune in to see more of her. Others will be left scratching their head as Eva was not known for her in-ring skills and she may not mesh well with the current women’s roster. Also as of note is the fact she did not work the independent wrestling scene during her time away from the WWE. So while fans and others may have concerns with her meshing with the active women’s roster, others may view it as a chance to see her in a non-wrestling role, perhaps as the lady Angel Garza seems to be courting in his promos.
Whatever it is, there is clearly no update on her status at this time.
