Impact Wrestling Hid Positive COVID-19 Test To Most Of Their Locker Room
Impact Wrestling has returned from the lockdowns during the COVID-19 pandemic to hold empty arena shows like most other companies. Unlike competitors from the WWE and AEW, they are taping multiple weeks of shows at a time, staying the course from their previous business model. Thankfully, this prevents a lot of travel from their talent and keeps them safer from COVID-19. However, a recent incident may have upset their talent and they may have some explaining to do.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported there was a positive COVID-19 test in the Impact locker room, and only a handful of wrestlers were notified by being told they needed to get tested and cheked out, while the remainder of the locker room was kept in the dark. They spoke to a wrestler who had to find out about the positive test through gossip, which definitely is not how you want your talent to find out.
One wrestler noted to us that most of the wrestlers were not told and were very hot having to hear the news through gossip. The wrestler was believed to be part of a group of several people who all traveled together and were tight.
The report also stated that unlike AEW and WWE, Impact isn’t doing COVID testing for their talent. It’s been said that they have only done temperature checks, so the current feeling is that Impact is responsible for this positive test.
