Liv Morgan Talks About A Rejected Darker Gimmick She Pitched
Liv Morgan got drafted to SmackDown in 2019 and after a loss to Charlotte Flair, decided she would take a hiatus in character and come back when she found the real her.
During her time off air, she began using social media showing a sad side of her, even tweeting a video of her sitting in the rain. It left fans worried, and according to Morgan that was exactly what she was looking for.
Talking to Fox Sports, Liv Morgan revealed that she had pitched an idea to creative a darker character for her to portray on television, but it was rejected.
I basically wanted to use the experiences I’ve gone through, the struggles of my childhood and kind of use the character that I was trying to create as an outlet to express the darker feelings that I was feeling. The more sad emotions that I was feeling.
So, I wanted to use this character as an outlet to express, maybe, suppressed emotions, you know? I just wanted to use this character as an outlet to show an opposite spectrum of Liv, you know?
But, I’m very happy and bubbly and I just wanted the pitch for it to come on the opposite spectrum of that.
Superstars often try to pitch ideas to help get them out of the catering area and back on television if they’re struggling for screen time. While this one didn’t work, things worked out well for Morgan in the end. She found a prominent spot on Raw before reuniting with Ruby Riott and Paul Heyman was quite the fan of hers as well. So hopefully there’s more sunshine than rain for Liv Morgan right now.
