SmackDown Is “Always In Disarray” With Vince McMahon In Attendance
Vince McMahon arrived late to SmackDown on Friday, though it’s said that in the end he didn’t change much from what was already written down for the day.
However, his late arrival did cause some issues because creative already knew he would make changes to the show anyways.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer said that Fridays are “always in a state of disarray” because “that’s just what it is.” A lot of that has to do with Vince McMahon and how he “shows up when he shows up” and he’s prone to “change everything.”
It’s been reported that Vince is at almost every SmackDown these days, a major leap from having been in attendance for about half the episodes prior to the pandemic. His attendance seems to be hindering more than helping creative. If McMahon wasn’t so adamant about everything having his approval, most shows could be wrapped up pretty quickly, but nothing can be green lit until his approval is given, only making the process that much longer.
