Tony Khan Confirms Jon Moxley Will Not Be At Wrestle Kingdom
One of the biggest stories in pro wrestling right now continues to be Jon Moxley’s status for Wrestle Kingdom 15. The current IWGP US Champion hasn’t defended the title since February of this year and hasn’t been initially booked when the Wrestle Kingdom card was revealed by New Japan Pro Wrestling at a press conference promoting the show.
Last time we reported, we did say that Moxley’s status as AEW World Champion had no bearing on whether or not he would be able to appear at the show, but on today’s media call with Tony Khan, Khan threw a lot of cold water on the fire when it came to whether or not Moxley would work the two day event at the Tokyo Dome.
Khan confirmed Moxley would not be wrestling at the event unfortunately, and it may just continue the storyline of KENTA seeking out Moxley as he currently holds a briefcase giving him a right to challenge for the IWGP United States Title. NJPW continues to expand into America as they’ve built a weekly show on NJPW World and has moved the Super J-Cup to the United States for this year’s tournament, but their expansion continues without the US face of the company active.
