Professional wrestling is a strange place and Sasha Banks knows it.
The current SmackDown Women’s Champion knows how the WWE works and knows that while today she is bitter enemies and rivals with her former best friend Bayley, next week the two could reunite and be best friends once more. Speaking to Charlotte Wilder, Banks was asked about her thoughts on the idea of her and Bayley becoming friends again. Her response showed just how strange she knows pro wrestling is.
“Knowing WWE, absolutely. It is so crazy here. Do you not know what I do for a living? Of course. We will be best friends, probably by tomorrow. This is WWE. They’ll probably make us get married. Who knows. Maybe next year. It’s WWE.”
It’s a response that’s probably as genre savvy as most of what Kevin Owens does these days, which is both entertaining and fun. She did have more to say about the Role Model though, talking about how she feels the need to rise to the occasion every time the two square off and calling her former tag team partner her favorite opponent.
“She brings something so different, but at the same time, she makes me so nervous because she’s so good. I’m like, ‘whoa, slow down. I’m the greatest.’ I have to go [raises hand] when I think about matches with her. I don’t want to say I’m lowering myself with other people, I just have to go way up and beyond and above when I wrestle her.”
While in character the relationship between Bayley and Sasha might be one of hatred right now, Sasha certainly has a lot of respect for her former tag team partner. You can watch the interview below.
