Cara Noir Advances to the Finals of wXw Catch Grand Prix
British independent wrestling star and current Progress Wrestling Champion Cara Noir has advanced to the finals of the wXw Catch Grand Prix.
The wXw Catch Grand Prix is made up of two blocks similar to that of the NJPW G1 Climax, with competitors getting 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw. The matches are also somewhat similar to the NXT UK Heritage cup matches, with the match made up of 5 rounds, each lasting 3 minutes although unlike the Heritage cup the matches are contested under 1 fall rules.
Cara Noir qualified for the final of Grand Prix by topping Block A with 9 points, each block is made up of seven competitors, the other competitors in Block A included; Avalanche, Hektor Invictus, Bobby Guns, Anil Marik, Metehan and Fast Time Moodo.
The results came down to the final match of Group A between Bobby Guns and Metehan yesterday, going into the match Guns had 7 points and Metehan 8 points, if Metehan won he would advance. However the match ended in a draw due to a double disqualification, leaving both Metehan and Cara Noir on 9 points but Cara Noir advances due to the tie breaker.
The Group Block A Finished as below;
Metehan and Cara Noir on 9 points (Cara Noir Advances due to tie breaker)
Avalanche and Bobby Guns 8 points
Fast Time Moodo 4 points
Hektor Invictus 3 points
Anil Marik 1 Point
Cara Noir’s opponent for the final will be decided on Saturday as the winner of Block B will come down to the last block match between Marius Al-Ani on 10 points and Tristan Archer 8 points in a winner takes all match.
