IMPACT Wrestling has a long list of people who are seemingly with one foot out the door at the end of this year. Some of their stars also seem ready to stick around. One of those, despite not being on television for several weeks, is Ace Austin.
Austin is a former X-Division Champion and has been elevated to the main event scene in the last year, even getting paired up with Madman Fulton as a tag team. Though he hasn’t been seen on television in a while, Austin is still with the company.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported Austin was backstage at the last tapings but simply not used. They said “there’s no real story” behind why he wasn’t used, they just didn’t have anything for him creatively. Instead of putting him on air in matches that weren’t going anywhere, they simply kept him off television.
There is no heat on Austin and it’s said “he will be back in the mix soon,” but we may not see Austin until 2021. Perhaps we might see him in the new Super X Cup coming next year.
