USA Network “Furious” At Raw Rating, Demand “Darker” Content
WWE’s record low ratings for the week has a lot of people upset.
Vince McMahon was already thinking of making some “reactionary decisions” in the wake of the rating, but that might not be the only decision made, and he might not be the only one unhappy.
Alex McCarthy of TalkSport has revealed that the USA Network is irate over the low rating from Raw, leading them to ask for a change of content.
USA Network seems to be asking for “dark” content, but not in the sexy way. They want more violent and edgy content, it seems.
“USA Network are furious. They want more adult content. Not sexy adult, but dark and violent adult.”
Their source added they hope the 2021 Royal Rumble can act as sort of a “big reset” in that regard, so it should be interesting to see what decisions they make to help with these moves. The situation is interesting, because we’re hearing for the first time that the network itself is concerned with the ratings and direction of Raw. It’s clear the WWE needs to do something, but they also need to figure out what exactly will stick in all of this.
Their 1.52 million viewer mark was a low and the .49 for hour one and .44 in hour two and three in the 18-49 demographic came nowhere close to the 12/9 Dynamite, which hit a .57.
