AEW has planted seeds that one of its founding father tag teams may go their separate ways.
While Christopher Daniels, Frankie Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky are the trio that form SCU, Daniels and Kazarian have become the tag team of the trio as Scorpio Sky has been more emphasized in the singles division. However, on AEW Dark this week in Britt Baker’s Waiting Room talk show, it seems Kazarian has had enough.
The duo have stuck together as a tag team for years, their combination seeing tag team success in Ring of Honor and Impact Wrestling, but it seems like they have failed to strike the same gold in All Elite Wrestling. Kazarian, frustrated and tired of losing, called out Daniels in the segment and though not abandoning his partner, Kazarian issued an ultimatum to The Fallen Angel.
“I know you better than anybody, CD, and if there’s one thing I know that you are and that’s a fighter. When your back is against the wall you will fight, when the pressure is on you will fight. So I am asking you one more time to fight, by my side. These are drastic times, CD, so I’m going to throw out some drastic measures, and I need you to agree with this.” “We will fight, we will claw, we will work our way to the top and we will become AEW Tag Team Champions, because from here on out, the next time you and I lose as a tag team, you and I are done as a tag team, forever.”
Only time will tell the end result of this. Whether it’s a set up to an eventual SCU/Bucks showdown for the titles or a way to transition to new things for the pair, the story should become very interesting over the weeks for the long time SCU duo.
