Chris Hero Slams Wrestling Journalist For Controversial Column About Brodie Lee’s Death
The death of Brodie Lee shocked the pro wrestling world. Considering few people knew anything was wrong with the AEW star, his wife took to Instagram to announce his passing and the cause of his death, a non-COVID related lung issue.
Considering the lengths the family took to keep the situation quiet and AEW’s cooperation, it was obvious the Huber family wanted privacy as they coped and perhaps as much privacy as they grieve. It is, naturally, a respectable situation. Despite this, Bruce Mitchell from PWTorch wrote a column titled “Why The Questions Surrounding Brodie Lee’s Death Are Important” and said that the death should be considered controversial. One of his main points was that a man Lee’s size should not have died so quickly.
In this brief excerpt, Mitchell argues his point, whether valid or not.
“I’m not a doctor, but I’ve never heard of an athlete the size and in the shape Brodie Lee was in to be able to excel in his last two matches suddenly developing a lung condition that serious that quickly.”
The controversial column quickly raised the anger of independent wrestling veteran Chris Hero, a man who had known Lee for several years. Hero was absolutely irate at the content of the column and wasn’t afraid to let Mitchell know.
Despite Mitchell’s claim, rapid health declines do happen. Lee’s family wanted privacy and respect on keeping Brodie’s illness close to their chest and they deserve that during the time Lee was getting treatment and deserve to have it now. Here’s hoping fans will see the reaction to this column and allow the Huber family their privacy.
