Jim Ross Reveals He Made A Promise To Brodie Lee Jr. For His Potential Pro Wrestling Career
In all the talk of Brodie Lee’s passing, one of the bright spots has been the way the wrestling world has embraced his son, affectionately known as Brodie Lee Jr.
Not only did All Elite Wrestling name him, also known as -1, the company’s Wrestler of the Week, but he even picked up a victory over NXT star Adam Cole in a fun little impromptu “match.” The company even went as far as to retire the curent TNT Title design, giving the belt to the young man in honor of his father. Now Brodie Lee Jr. will have a true experience when the young man is ready to become a professional wrestler.
On the Grilling JR podcast, Jim Ross revealed that when Brodie Lee Jr. becomes a professional wrestler and competes in his first World Title match, Ross will come out of retirement if he must so he can be the announcer for that match.
Ross elaborated more on it, saying that Lee Jr. had heard nothing but great things about JR from his father.
“That’s just me, and you know I wanted to make him happy. And he thought that was the coolest deal. So apparently his dad had been saying nice things about me and my work or whatever. And the little boy remembered it and thought that was pretty cool.”
Jim Ross and the All Elite Wrestling family have gone the extra mile to show a lot of love to Lee’s widow and children in the days following his passing, something that was meaningful to them as it was to the company.
