Doc Gallows Waiting for Slammy Award in the Mail from WWE
The team of Karl Anderson and Doc Gallows (known as Luke Gallows in WWE) were released from WWE back in April of 2020 after signing a long term contract shortly before the start of Covid-19.
Following their release, Anderson and Gallows signed shortly after to Impact Wrestling and are now the Impact Tag Team Champions.
In a recent interview with Justin Barrasso of Sports Illustrated, Anderson and Gallows spoke about their time in WWE and how they are feeling after their exit.
Anderson commented on the fact that the team lost their confidence and are regaining it after their exit:
“I hate to admit this, but I think there was a point in WWE where we had a loss of confidence. I can promise you that the confidence is back. We needed to get out of that environment to remind ourselves who we really are and what we can be. Right now, we’re on top of our game. It feels that way to us, and hopefully it shows.”
Gallows made it noted that they don’t hold grudges but joked about the fact they didn’t receive a Slammy Award for their part in the Boneyard Match that they had a big part of alongside AJ Styles, when Styles faced the Undertaker at WrestleMania. That match won match of the year.
Gallows said the following about the Boneyard Match and his pending Slammy Award:
“We don’t have any sour grapes about WWE, except that they forgot to mail us our Slammy Award for Match of the Year. Maybe the mail is slow. I’m still waiting on that. But we’re focused on right now.”
