Backstage News On Ronda Rousey’s WWE Contract Status

It’s been well over a year since we’ve seen Ronda Rousey on WWE television, and it seems that potentially COVID-19 may have changed some of those plans in addition to a horrific injury where Rousey almost mangled her hand. Of course, this does leave us wondering if this just means her contract is up, and if it’s not when we can expect her to return.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported, however, Rousey is still under WWE contract, but it expires at a very interesting time.

Rousey is still under contract through 4/10, which would be day one of Mania. Obviously she could do a new contract if both sides wanted it.

Paul Heyman teased a while ago Rousey may have signed a contract extension, but there has never been any confirmation one way or the other. And with her contract set to expire at WrestleMania, there’s a chance to squeeze one more pay day out of the company if she doesn’t intend on re-signing with the WWE. Right now, there are no indications WWE is bringing in Rousey for Sunday’s Royal Rumble, but you can never say never.
