MVP Credits His Son For His WWE Return
Last year’s Royal Rumble saw the return of MVP after a several year absence and saw him go from what looked to be a part time star and backstage producer, to one of the hottest acts on Raw as a member of The Hurt Business.
It’s just one sign he’s come a long way as he’s returned to prominence and has widely been regarded as one of the best acts on the red brand since his full time return, many people even saying he carried the show through the difficult summer and the COVID-19 pandemic. He has even been credited as salvaging Bobby Lashley’s WWE run since pairing with him. His return almost didn’t happen though, if it wasn’t for his son.
MVP was recently interviewed by Bleacher Report, where he talked about how his decision to return to the WWE was one made due to the fact he had wanted his son to see him perform in a WWE ring.
“WWE was coming to Houston with the Rumble, and my son had recently become a huge wrestling fan. I had been contacted previously about being a surprise entrant and we agreed not to for whatever reasons. This time I reached out to them and asked if I could and they were happy to have me. I told them, ‘I just want my son to be able to see daddy at a WWE event.’”
MVP managed to make the most of his one opportunity and has now turned it into becoming a member of one of the company’s most dominant and popular factions in a while.
