NXT had begun the process of building a new star in Ridge Holland over the summer. The former professional rugby player had been given quite a spotlight, getting a heavy push in both NXT: UK and the home black and gold brand, looking to be heading toward a feud with the Undisputed Era. A freak sets of injuries suddenly halted all the momentum, unfortunately.
Holland suffered a fractured and dislocated left ankle and then a dislocated kneecap and ruptured patella tendons on his right leg. It was a scary injury that happened on live television for him back in October, but a cryptic post on Instagram from the man who talks about his Yorkshire Grit is giving heavy indication that he might be inching toward a return.
Holland posted a black and white photo of the cap and club he wears to the ring hanging on a ring post, something he typically does during his matches. While there is no caption, there’s obviously two ways to take it. The Bother Causer is either hanging it up due to these injuries, or to paraphrase his typical words, we’ll be seein’ him soon. While this is far from a typical injury update, it should certainly stir fans excited to see new talent in NXT get their shot.
