Brock Lesnar wrapped up his contractual obligations to the WWE at WrestleMania 36. Since then, he has yet to return to television and WWE has stopped selling his merchandise. While there’s no word whether or not the WWE has been in talks with Lesnar over a new contract, anything is possible especially with the Road to WrestleMania starting tonight.
On Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer talked about Lesnar’s WWE status. He remains without a contract, but everyone knows how fast those things can change.
“I just know he has not signed anything and he is not under contract and the plan isn’t for Lesnar in the [Royal Rumble] match, but you know that can change even days later.”
Brock Lesnar would be a major surprise for the Royal Rumble and help add to the star power of this year’s WrestleMania, and Vince is no stranger to making sure deals get done quickly when it comes to Lesnar. However, in this pandemic, Brock would have to be extra sure the deal is done due to needing to quarantine. Who knows? Maybe we’ll see Lesnar as a surprise entry in this year’s Rumble.
