Major Presence Absent From Last Night’s Royal Rumble
Outside one mistake, last night’s Royal Rumble went off mostly without a hitch. They had a great team working to put the show all together, but last night had a major person missing backstage.
Ringside News has first reported Vince McMahon was absent backstage at last night’s pay per view. While no explict reason was given, but he has been absent from shows following the passing of his brother Rod on January 20th.
McMahon was still “very involved” in production, but it was spent via the telephone, and Vince remained on the phone with people in the Gorilla Position during the entire show.
Kevin Dunn continued to run the production, while Bruce Prichard was the writers’ lead and Triple H actually ran the show.
There is uncertainty whether or not Vince McMahon will be at tonight’s show. It’s rare for McMahon to miss this many shows in a row, especially with a big pay per view like the Royal Rumble. However, Vince is still human and needs time to grieve a close, personal loss.
