Field Set For AEW Women’s Eliminator Tournament
Last night, we got a clearer picture of the AEW Women’s Eliminator Tournament. A 16-woman tournament will take place, where one half of the field is from the best and brightest in Japan, where the other half of the bracket comes from AEW’s top female competitors.
The US side features the return of first ever AEW Women’s champion Riho, it will also have top stars like Serena Deeb, Dr. Britt Baker, Tay Conti, Thunder Rosa, Nyla Rose, Anna Jay, and Leyla Hirsch. Meanwhile, the Japan side features the returns of previously used joshi stars like Emi Sakura, Ryo Mizunami, and Yuka Sakazaki, while also bringing in Maki Itoh, Rin Kadokura, Mei Suruga, Veny, and the AEW return of the legendary Aja Kong.
One person from AEW will be getting a close look at the Japan side of the bracket, and that’s Women’s Champion Hikaru Shida. Shida posted a photo of herself in Japan, saying she was there for the tournament.
Details are yet to be revealed on when and where you’ll see all the tournament matches, but you can be sure people will be ready for the action.
