Jim Ross Thinks AEW Is Just Beginning To Get Homegrown Talent Over

AEW’s first year has been highlighted by not just the arrival of top stars like Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega, and Jon Moxley, but the company has had homegrown talent shine this past year like Jungle Boy, Darby Allin, and MJF as they mix it up with the top stars of the company. Jim Ross has been loving every bit of building that talent, but he thinks it’s really just beginning.

JR talked about the way AEW is building their young talent on his Grilling JR podcast, where he revealed that he thinks AEW is just starting to get those young guys over. With AEW in their second year, it’s only now that those homegrown stars are finally able to really shine.

“The talent roster, we’re starting to get some of the AEW originals over. We’ve only been here a year, anybody who thinks you can get over and be a big major star in under a year probably you’re doing too much fantasy booking. It just doesn’t work that way and it takes more time. We’re only on T.V. two hours a week.”

As the second year begins, the emphasis on making some of these new stars really shine has been clear. Whether it’s Darby Allin as the company’s TNT Champion or Jungle Boy capturing a major singles win over an established star like Dax Harwood in a hotly contested match on Dynamite, AEW is slowly building stars for tomorrow long after Chris Jericho and his group begin to phase out.
