At one point, big things looked to be in store for Andrade. He was United States Champion and getting featured regularly on WWE television. Now, Andrade hasn’t been seen since October and this doesn’t look to change anytime soon.
Andrade wasn’t drafted to either brand in the WWE Draft last year, but rumors were surfacing he would end up on Raw and that has yet to manifest. There were also rumors he’d return to television with his real life fiancee Charlotte Flair, and that didn’t happen either.
Now things are looking even worse for El Idolo as Fightful Select reported Andrade wasn’t even listed as an alternate for the Royal Rumble. The company had people like Murphy and Cedric Alexander listed as alternates, but Andrade didn’t make the cut.
We’ve heard nothing about whether or not Andrade being at the building, but we can confirm he wasn’t listed as an alternate, either.
There were rumors Andrade would return with a push, but he obviously hasn’t returned to television, so no push has manifested.
Andrade has a lot of skill and in a recent question asked by the WWEonFox Twitter account about the greatest NXT Title match ever, many listed his match against Johnny Gargano from TakeOver: Philadelphia as the best one ever. He’s worked to improve his English as well, so he has a lot of skills. Now it’s just a matter of seeing if WWE makes use of him.
