Lio Rush and Laredo Kid competed on Wednesday Night on this week’s episode of MLW Fusion.
Rush who is the MLW Middleweight Champion put his championship on the line against Laredo Kid, who is the AAA Cruiserweight Championship.
Rush ended up retaining the MLW Middleweight Champion and also became AAA Cruiserweight Champion following his victory.
Rush vs Laredo Kid was only the second match for Lio Rush in MLW.
MLW & AAA officials already have stated that the two companies are in discussions for a possible Lio Rush/ Laredo Kid 2 and the titles would be unified.
Rush had this to say backstage following his victory:
“The AAA Cruiserweight Championship belongs to him now and will stay with him. Laredo Kid stepped up to the plate, but he fell like everyone else who has stepped to The Man of the Hour. Rush said that when he steps into the ring and does everything he said he was going to do, people will have no choice but to call him the greatest cruiserweight, the greatest middleweight, and the greatest wrestler in the world.”
