WWE Gives Special Exemption To Sami Zayn In Regards To Third Party Ban

There was a lot of talk recently about additions to WWE’s third party ban and how it extended to social media now. Instagram and Twitter were added to the platforms WWE had control over in terms of content. Thankfully, it seems, one person has a pass and for a good cause.

One of the biggest third-party organizations that often gets promoted on the social media of one particular WWE Superstar is Sami Zayn’s Sami for Syria charity. With roots in the country, Sami has partnered with the Syrian American Medical Society Foundation to create a charity that helps mobile clinics get set up in the country. Sami is often promoting the organization on Twitter, and while WWE’s updates to the ban would get people in violation of the policy, Sami has been granted an exception.

Dave Meltzer spoke about this on Wrestling Observer Radio, where he revealed he did some digging to find out that Zayn will be allowed to continue plugging the charity on his social media.

“Everything is on a case by case basis. I asked specifically about Sami For Syria; because that’s one of the charities I know most about. They said that that’s fine. He will still be able to promote that”

While most things will be on a case by case basis, Sami has been granted his exception for his charity. Maybe it’s because the optics would be poor if they stopped him otherwise, thankfully he is able to continue.
