Riddle Says Vince McMahon Thought He Was A Goof When They First Met
Riddle is one of WWE’s more eccentric personalities, but he’s got a fan following.
The former UFC fighter is the laid back “Original Bro” who has a demeanor that reminds people more of Jeff Spicoli from Fast Times at Ridgemont High than the former UFC fighter he is. However, once the bell rings, his persona changes and it’s clear that he’s not just a bro, he’s a badass.
Riddle can come off like a goof, and he revealed that even Vince McMahon thought that at first. However, Riddle eventually showed him that he can act like a goof because he can back it up. He revealed a story about how Vince McMahon learned a lot about it speaking to the hosts of WWE’s The Bump.
“Even though I come off like a goof, even Vince [McMahon], the first time, he’s like, ‘You’re kind of a goof.’ I’m like, ‘Yeah, I know I’m kind of a goof.’ ‘That’s not a good thing.’ ‘For me, it is because I can back it up. I’m tough, I can fight. Being a goof for me is good. A lot of people are like, ‘he’s so goofy.’ You guys realize I get to be goofy because I can break your neck and knock you unconscious. I’m 35 and get to be a goofball because I’m a savage in the ring.”
Whatever Riddle’s personality is, it’s parlayed him into being the United States Champion thanks to winning a triple threat match at Elimination Chamber. You can watch The Bump below.
