Atsushi Onita Invited To Attend AEW Revolution, Declined Due To COVID-19 Protocols
AEW is hosting an exploding barbed wire death match at AEW Revolution on Sunday and one of the innovators of the match is on the guest list. Unfortunately, he won’t be able to make it.
Yahoo Sports in Japan reported that AEW invited Atsushi Onita to Revolution to be a “witness” for the main event between Jon Moxley and Kenny Omega. Sadly, Onita couldn’t attend the event because of the COVID-19 pandemic and protocols.
Onita has an appearance in Japan on March 21st and due to the two week quarantine rule in Japan, it would have forced him to miss his appearance, but he did say he would be open to appearing in AEW or having AEW wrestlers appear in Japan following the pandemic.
Onita, who is known for his own competition in exploding barbed wire deathmatches, did show up on AEW Dynamite in a video to talk about the match.
