The controversial ending of Wednesday’s WWE Women’s Tag Team Title match left William Regal to tell NXT fans he would be making an announcement to shake the core of the NXT women’s division on the next episode of NXT. Now we know what that will be.
The following is a spoiler, please stop reading if you would like to remain surprised.
William Regal will be announcing the creation of NXT Women’s Tag Team Titles. Their women’s division is deep enough that they seem comfortable in making this move. The Wrestling Observer Newsletter says NXT has plans to introduce those titles and that will be Regal’s announcement next week.
Given their ability to put on a Dusty Rhodes Women’s Tag Team Classic in full is a nice indication the women’s division is deep enough to hold a tournament of that caliber, it seems like that now is the perfect time to introduce these titles. With a two-night NXT TakeOver seemingly in the cards, that would be the perfect time to have their tournament finals.
