Santos Escobar is riding high this weekend. The leader of Legado del Fantasma became the undisputed NXT Cruiserweight Champion after having a hard fought ladder match against Jordan Devlin this past Thursday at TakeOver: Stand And Deliver. Now, he’s politely requested a match against a WWE Hall of Famer.
Sean Waltman is a two-time WWE Hall of Famer as a member of DX and the nWo and following Escobar’s victory congratulated the champion on his victory over Twitter. Escobar quote tweeted a reply to Waltman where he issued a compliment and a challenge.

The opening translates to “Brother, you are a LEGEND,” showing the respect he has for Waltman. Waltman, who recently revealed he had knee surgery in the hopes that he could finish out his career on his own terms, was quick to respond.
I made the decision before I had knee surgery. Let’s have a conversation when my Dr clears me to wrestle. 🙏
Waltman has always been considered a spectacular in-ring worker during his career and given the nature of Waltman’s friendships with Shawn Michaels and Triple H, a one night only match for him to face Escobar might not be so far fetched.
