Damian Priest Says He Taught Bad Bunny The Canadian Destroyer
Bad Bunny put in a performance to be remembered at WrestleMania 37, and the highlight of his performance was the shocking Canadian Destroyer he pulled out of his arsenal during the match. Not only is it rare to see a piledriver, but to see a non-wrestler performing such a powerful move that is rarely seen on WWE television in a moment like this was definitely one to remember, and it turns out he learned it from his tag team partner.
Damian Priest spoke with SportsKeeda, where he told them that not only did he suggest the move to Bad Bunny, but praised the work ethic his tag team partner put in to do the things he could at WrestleMania.
“I remember I showed him a video, because he knew what the move was and I was trying to explain to him how to do it. And I’m actually like, ‘What do you think?’ He was like, ‘I don’t know man. Wrestlemania’s tomorrow. You want me to do that?’ And I was like, ‘It’d be really sweet if you could,’. I knew he was going to surprise people. Like I’ve been working with him since the week before Royal Rumble. We’ve been in the ring every single week. He put it the work and I know, cause I was there. I watched him, I watched him go through pain. I watched him bleed. I watched him struggle to stand up and I also watched him say, ‘Let’s do that again. Let’s keep going. No, no, let’s go, let’s go.’ And not quit. You know, every single week we had our time that we had booked at the Performance Center and then he would create extra time and ask for extra time, like before RAW. We would even go to SmackDowns just to work out and then leave.”
Bad Bunny’s work ethic has been praised by talent universally in the WWE, with Randy Orton going as far as to say he considered him a fellow in-ring performer. A performance like that didn’t just impress fans, but many are wondering if we’ll see him in a ring again. While nothing is confirmed, it seems certain many fans would love to see Bad Bunny back in business.
