Former Voice Of TNA Wrestling Don West Diagnosed With Brain Lymphoma
Don West was the voice of TNA Wrestling from 2002 to 2012, and was heavily involved backstage with merchandise. West took a hiatus from wrestling until January of 2017 when it was announced that he had returned to work with IMPACT Wrestling once again as part of their merchandise division.
Since his departure from pro wrestling back in 2012, Don West has a radio show on 560 KPQ Radio in Washington, where he talks about Seattle and Washington state sports. Don West’s show had recently been on hiatus and he issued a statement to tell his listeners the reason.
West revealed on the 560 KPQ website that he has been diagnosed with brain lymphoma and that he will begin undergoing treatment. He thanked everyone for their support, as the show will once again take a hiatus while he is being treated.
“Hello everybody,
Don West here to tell you about how disappointed I am not to be talking about the Seattle Seahawks, the Mariners, the Wenatchee Wild and everything else that we love to talk about every day on the Don West Show.
Many of you have wondered where I have been and why the show is on hiatus. So I want to share this news directly with you. I have been diagnosed with a brain lymphoma and will begin immediate treatment.
I want to thank my wife Terri for her love and support, my family and everyone that works at Cherry Creek Media and KPQ. I also want to thank the Don West Show’s incredible sponsors and my friends for all the prayers that are coming my way. I am praying the chemotherapy will help me heal faster and hopefully I’ll be back on the radio soon.
I can’t wait until this is all over and I can be back with you all again, I love you all!
Don West”
Former TNA Wrestling Owner and Founder Jeff Jarrett commented on West’s health after hearing the news.
We would like to wish Don West the best while he begins treatment and recovery.
