In the latest issue of The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer revealed that the reason “Cowboy” James Storm is gone from Impact Wrestling is because he had a high guaranteed money deal in place with his previous contract; and Anthem did not want to renew it.
Meltzer also hinted that the same may be true for other top names on the current roster, like Bobby Lashley and Ethan Carter III. With Anthem looking to make as many budget saving costs as possible, it will be interesting to see what they decide to do with these expiring contracts. EC3 signed his current contract back in January 2017, so it is believed that his deal ends sometime in January 2018 as most of Impact Wrestling tends to sign talent to one year deals.
