The Rock’s WWE Plans for the Next Eight Months Reportedly Revealed
One of the most popular fantasy bookings of the last 12 months has been Roman Reigns defending his WWE Universal Championship against the Rock in the main event of WrestleMania 38. Despite how popular the theory is, there has been no concrete evidence of the match even being a possibility.
That is, until now.
According to a report from Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, The Rock is expected to appear at the upcoming Survivor Series event. Zarian went as far as to say that he “feels confident” that the great one will appear. Not only will the future Hall of Famer be present at the event, but he will also be featured sporadically on WWE TV in the weeks leading up to the show.
“I can tell you, USA Network tentatively wants him on that Monday. By the way, he’s gonna go everywhere. This isn’t just a RAW storyline. He’s going to go everywhere.”
It is currently unknown if the Great one will have a match at any point on the road to Survivor Series, Zarian even seemed to imply that the Rock would have a different role on the show, but that doesn’t mean that WWE doesn’t have an idea of when Dwayne will be making his in-ring return.
Zarian also reported on the podcast that the “soft” plans as of now are for the Rock/Roman dream match to take place at next year’s WrestleMania.
“By the way, Rock Vs Roman, that is what is soft on paper for the Main Event [at WrestleMania]. I mean, Dallas, 100,000 people, you need the freaking Rock.”
It should also be noted that this year’s Survivor Series will mark the 25th anniversary of when the Rock made his WWE debut, so that will most likely be the on-screen reason for him appearing at the event.
The Rock has been had a match in WWE in over five years. In his last bout, he defeated Erick Rowan in just six seconds at WrestleMania 32.
