Top WWE Star Not Eligible for Draft
Part 1 of the WWE Draft took place last night on Friday Night Smackdown and one of it’s biggest questions has been officially answered. There has been speculation on the draft eligibility of Brock Lesnar, given that the beast incarnate is not a full-time performer and was away from WWE over a year-and-a-half before returning at the end of SummerSlam this past August.
Any confusion on Lesnar’s draft status was cleared up by the man himself on last night’s broadcast. After interrupting a backstage segment between Jeff Hardy and Kayla Braxton, the former Universal Champion announced that he is a “free agent”, implying that he has the ability to float between both RAW and Smackdown whenever he pleases. Lesnar also made it clear that this is all due to his “good friend” Paul Heyman, tying his free-agent status into his current storyline with his former advocate and current Universal Champion, Roman Reigns.
Part 2 of the WWE Draft takes place this Monday night on RAW. Major stars that are eligible to be drafted include Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley, Sasha Banks, and Alexa Bliss.
