Full Gear Preview
The last PPV of 2021 for AEW will take place this Saturday. Excitement is in the air with this card and the matches it has to offer. Let’s take a look at the card and how things could go.
Miro vs. Bryan Danielson
The finals of the AEW World Championship Eliminator Tournament will see Miro (replacing Jon Moxley) and the former TNT Champion Miro. Both wrestlers have a case to win this match, but The American Dragon is the favorite to win this bout. One thing is for sure, this match will be physical and could be the match of the night.
Bryan Danielson against Omega or Hangman would be a great program for AEW to close the year.
Inner Circle vs. Men of the Year & American Top Team (Minneapolis Street Fight)
A very interesting feud. Dan Lambert as a heel manager has been great and has HEAT (in a good way) with fans. The build for this feud started a bit weird, but these last few weeks it has improved. It will be interesting to watch in what a Minneapolis street fight match is different from a regular street fight.
This match being a street fight will help cover the inexperience of Dos Santos and Arlovski, but most of all help them showcase their MMA stuff at the right time. Inner Circle are the favorites to win this match, but pay attention to Men of the Year and their performance on this match.
Lucha Bros (c) vs. FTR for the AEW Tag Team Championship
Lucha Bros and FTR have faced each other twice and on both occasions FTR were able to win (with heel tactics). This feud is personal for the Luchadores due to FTR just a few weeks ago ended their 2-year reign of the AAA tag team championships.
This is going to be another match with a good case for MOTN and Lucha Bros are the favorites to retain the AEW tag team championship and beat FTR for the first time.
Darby Allin vs. MJF
The battle of two of the young pillars of AEW. The future of AEW rests in the hands of these two and this match is just a preview of what’s to come for AEW, if they play their cards right.
Both wrestlers come from defeat at All Out and want to finish the last PPV of the year with a win. MJF has tried to break Allin mentally, but he has not been able to so far, however, he has tried destroying Allin psychically on a few occasions. This match really looks to be for Allin for the taking, but this will not be the last time their paths cross.
Britt Baker (c) vs. Tay Conti for the AEW Women’s Championship
Tay Conti’s progression with AEW has been something amazing to watch, from a prospect that didn’t show much in NXT, to being a fan favorite in AEW. Conti’s progress has led to this moment for the former judoka.
While Conti’s progress has something amazing to watch, Britt Baker’s work as champion has also been a highlight to watch in the AEW women’s division. The real question is, can Tay Conti beat Baker and her entourage? This will be the story of the match and how Conti deals with the numbers against her.
The Super Elite vs. Jurassic Express & Christian Cage
The second longest running feud of this card. Jurassic Express & Cage want to once and for all end their feud with The Super Elite and theor shenanigans.
The Super Elite are the favorites to win this match, but don’t discount Jurassic Express and Christian Cage, an upset could take place.
CM Punk vs. Eddie Kingston
A feud that started by a simple interruption has become personal after an amazing segment between Punk and Kingston. The feud and match are one of the biggest selling points on why you should buy this PPV.
Kenny Omega (c) vs. Adam “Hangman” Page for the AEW World Championship
The match every AEW fan has been waiting for, the rematch between Kenny Omega and Hangman Page. So far, Hangman has never been able to beat Omega on singles competition the few times they’ve faced each other in AEW and NJPW.
Hangman and Omega faced each other on last year’s Eliminator Tournament at Full Gear that ended up with Omega winning the match and eventually becoming AEW World Champion.
This match has been built the last two years when Hangman and Omega first became a tag team and won the tag team championships in AEW. All pressure is on Hangman finally making his promise of becoming world champion in AEW come true.
