NJPW Returning To AXS TV
During Night 1 of Wrestle Kingdom 16, New Japan announced that their weekly television programming will be returning to AXS TV in March.
Dave Meltzer said on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio that this deal had something to do with NJPW’s working agreement with Impact Wrestling.
“I was told about that months ago that they had made the deal with AXS. Part of that was that they are working with Impact, so that was one of the things they had to do”
New Japan Wrestling have been making their way into the U.S market slowly but surely. Whether it’s running shows in America or opening the NJPW dojo in California, the company has been making strides to get into the American market.
The agreement gives AXS TV the option to air encore presentations of past NJPW broadcasts from its five-year run on the Network, bringing even more exclusive NJPW action to subscribers across the U.S., Canada and the Caribbean. The move also includes Anthem’s sister station Fight Network, allowing the premier combat sports outlet to share this slate of new and classic NJPW content to viewers throughout Canada, Europe, Africa and the Middle East, as well.
