Exclusive: Big Damo (Fka Killian Dain) Plans To Make Progress Atlas Championship A World Title If He Wins Upcoming Atlas Tournament
This weekend, Sunday 17th of April and Monday 18th of April, Progress Wrestling will crown a new Atlas champion for the first time since 2019,
The Atlas Championship will be contested for by 8 of the top independent heavyweight wrestlers from around the world over two days at Chapter 132 “By The Beard Of Zeus” and Chapter 133 “Stop Motion Skeleton Battle” respectively.
On of those competitors is the former WWE superstar Big Damo, fka Killian Dain and the man known as the Beast from Belfast has lofty aspirations should he win the tournament and championship.
Speaking on our Tea & Tights: A Great British Wrestling Podcast, Damo stated that if he wins the championship he plans to turn in to a world title by defending the championship around the world.
“If I was to win I would make the Progress Atlas a world title because I would literally defend it across the world, in the next few months I am going to be announcing where I am going to be going in the next while and I will happily bring it to those countries I will happily bring it all across America and all across Europe as well and it will become the World Atlas Championship.”
Damo clearly believes he is in with a very good chance of winning the championship calling himself to the be the favourite to win it, whilst speaking on his first round opponent Luke Jacobs Damo stated;
“If he manages to get past me then he could win this thing cause lets face it I am the number 1 guy in this tournament, whether I come against him myself, whether I get into the semi final with my former tag team partner Axel Tischer, (fka WWE’s Alexander Wolfe), or if I make it all the way to the finals and face my former trainee Joe Hendry, or even big Jonah (fka WWE’s Bronson Reed) who I beat multiple times on NXT, whatever happens I am the favourite and if he beats me he could go on and win this thing”

Big Damo makes his return to Progress Wrestling after 6 years following a stint in the WWE and last competed in the original Atlas tournament to crown their first ever Atlas Champion in 2016.
