Cody Rhodes was an integral part of the rise of AEW to the number two spot in the wrestling industry and was also the first major AEW star to defect to the WWE.
Upon on his return to a WWE ring at Wrestlemania, he received a spectacular ovation and has been getting heavy cheers ever since, but for a while in AEW Cody was experiencing a lot of boos despite being a clear face. Sunday evening Cody responded to a tweet and referenced the boos, stating he wouldn’t have changed a thing.
Of course, some may disagree about Cody’s description of it being ‘the quirky thing to do’. It is quite interesting to see Cody go from the reactions he was getting in AEW to the reactions he is getting since his WWE debut. He is definitely over with the WWE audience in a way we didn’t see AEW fans react for a while.
