Dakota Kai Issues First Statement Since Being Released From WWE
On Friday, WWE released a series of NXT talents and one of them was Dakota Kai.
Kai had been a mainstay of the NXT brand since 2015 when she debuted as Evie. When Raquel Rodriguez was first brought to NXT, it was as Dakota Kai’s heavy during a blow off match between Kai and Tegan Nox. Kai never held singles gold but held the NXT Women’s tag titles twice, albeit holding them for a combined time of less than four days.
Kai posted her first statement since her release was announced on Twitter Saturday. Kai was thankful for all the love:
“Above everything, thank you all. I am so overwhelmed at all the love and support. The DM’s, texts, tweets… you all have my heart. I love you.
I am thankful for being able to meet, work and intertwine with so many beautiful people, people I looked up to, people I learned from.. I met some of my best friends over these last few years that will remain in my life forever.I don’t know what’s next for me. I chose “Evie” when I was 17 years old. That chapter is shut.. just know this; I’m far from being done.

A grateful and reserved Dakota Kai to her fans, she will surely be back with a bang once she signs for another company and begins a new chapter in her career.
