Scorpio Sky is now a two time TNT champion after defeating Sammy Guevara last week on AEW Rampage.
While there was the botch where Sammy was hurt, the match still holds up as a fun ladder match. It was even rated four stars by WON.
Scorpio Sky recently joined Miesha Tate and Renee Young on their podcast “Throwing Down w/ Renee & Miesha” and discussed winning the title and what it meant to win it for a second time:
“It’s really an honor. You know, just to win it one time is incredible. People think wins and losses and things like that don’t matter, but in AEW, from the very beginning, they wanted to make a statement that wins and losses do matter,”
“There haven’t been a lot of people that have held championships, so to be able to have the honor of being a champion not only one time, but two times, actually three times as a tag team champion was an honor.”

Sky also spoke about what he thinks of Sammy Guevara as a performer and labelled him as the type of guy you want to have a ladder match with:
“Sammy Guevara is, in all honesty, rivalry aside, an incredible performer. He always goes out and puts on a great show for the fans and he does not care about his body,”
“He always does something crazy and he’s always wanting to top himself. He’s the type of guy you want to be in a ladder match against, especially since his main concern is always crashing and burning.”

Finally, Sky discussed Tony Khan, labelling the owner of AEW a ‘mad genius’:
“He’s kind of a mad genius. Anyone that’s talked to him or heard him talk, you know what I mean. But if you listen to him enough, things circle back and it makes a lot of sense, everything he says. I think that a lot of that plays into how he runs AEW.”
“There’s no mistake that this is where so many people want to be seen and so many people from other companies cross over to our company. Then also you see Mike Tyson, and you see Paige VanZant, and you see these celebrities coming over and wanting to get involved as well.”
