UFC 277 Set for July 30th in Dallas, Texas
As first reported by Ariel Helwani of MMA Hour, UFC 277 will be held in Dallas, Texas on July 30th. The UFC looked at other locations for this event too, the other two being Boston and Chicago before they eventually were set on Dallas, Texas.
While the UFC 277 card is still up in the air, UFC is looking to book Brandon Moreno vs Kai Kara-France in a rematch. This time, however, the bout would be for the interim Flyweight championship. Deiveson Figueiredo was supposed to defend against Moreno in a fourth fight, but a finger injury will prevent that from happening for the time being.
The translated tweet reads that Figueiredo has a crooked finger injury and he is looking to train with former champions Henry Cejudo and Charles Oliveira for his next defense. Moreno is currently tied with Figueiredo 1-1-1, with the first contest ending in a draw. Moreno won the second match while the champion tied it up in the trilogy at UFC 270. Kara-France lost to Moreno in their first bout at UFC 245 but has defeated former Bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and then-undefeated Askar Askarov to earn a shot at interim UFC gold.
Derrick Lewis vs Sergei Pavlovich will also take place at 277. Lewis is coming off a knock out loss from Tai Tuivasa while Pavlovich is on a three fight win streak with first round finishes coming in all of them.
Magomed Ankalaev vs Anthony Smith at Light Heavyweight and Paulo Costa vs Luke Rockhold at Middleweight were announced for UFC 277. Bodyslam will have you covered on any updates we receive for this pay-per-view event.
