Henry Cejudo Coming out of Retirement, Plans to Fight at the End of the Year
The former Flyweight and Bantamweight champion will be coming out of retirement at the end of the year.
Henry Cejudo’s coach Eric Abarracin announced during the MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani that Cejudo plans on walking “straight back into” the Bantamweight title picture and if he is successful then he’ll move up to go after the Featherweight champion after.
The last time Cejudo entered the octagon, he retained the Bantamweight championship against Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 on May 9th in 2020. The former two-division champion + Olympic gold medalist has the goal to now go from Triple C to C4 if his return is a success.
The current Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling retained against Petr Yan at UFC 273 where Cejudo was supposed to be in Yan’s corner but pulled out during Fight Week.
We will keep you updated on who Cejudo fights when he does make his return to the UFC at the end of the year.
