Kenny Omega Won’t Be In Vegas For Double Or Nothing
It looks like AEW’s best bout machine will not be present at their upcoming PPV.
Kenny Omega has been one of the biggest stars in AEW’s short history as a promotion. He has held the world title, the tag titles and has put on some of the best matches of the last 3 years within the company. Following losing his championship to Hangman Adam Page, Omega began his break from the ring to heal up and fix some injuries he had been working with.
According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kenny Omega will not be in Las Vegas this week for the Double or Nothing pay-per-view. He still has a lot of healing to do.
Kenny Omega went to a couple of tapings in the last few weeks to work backstage but in hindsight the travel was too early for the healing needed for his injuries and he won’t be in Las Vegas this week for the PPV show. Omega did say that the parts of his body that are healthy he is able to train well and is pushing himself harder every week. Other parts the healing is slow.
He said he’s resigned to the fact that physically he will never be 100 percent, but he is looking at reversing some of the physical damage and being able to return and this time off and fixing up his different injuries would extend his time as an effective pro wrestler

Of course as Meltzer mentioned, Omega has kept himself busy while out of in ring action. He has been influential in the impending AEW: Fight Forever video game as well as producing backstage. Time will tell when the former world champion will return to the ring.
