UFC Fight Night: Volkov vs Rozenstruik Results – 6/4/22
UFC presented their UFC Fight Night event on Saturday June 4, 2022 live from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada. The program featured a battle between two top ten ranked heavyweights; Alexander Volkov vs Jairzinho Rozenstruik. The results are below:
Erin Blanchfield defeats JJ Aldrich via Round-Two Submission (guillotine)
Erin Blanchfield continues to be undefeated in the UFC, now becoming 3-0 with a brutal standing guillotine choke. Post-fight, Erin says she wants to continue to move up the rankings and calls out the winner of next months Eye vs Barber.
Rinat Fakhretdinov defeats Andreas Michailidis via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-26, 30-27)
Rinat dominated the entire fight with his grappling, he looked very strong and his pressure was non-stop. He busted up Andreas pretty bad in the third round and looked like a monster doing so. He gets a win in his UFC debut and tells Dana that he is hungry and ready to go afterwards.
Jeff Molina defeats Zhalgas Zhumagulov via split decision (29-28, 29-28, 30-27)
Jeff Molina becomes 3-0 in the UFC with a 10 fight win streak overall after a very close fight that could’ve went either way, but ultimately the significant strikes in his favor paid off and his win streak continues.
Tony Gravely defeats Johnny Munoz via First-Round TKO (punches)
Tony Gravely walks into his 30th pro fight and walks out quickly with a win after dropping Munoz with a sneaky uppercut, then finishing him off with ground strikes. This one didn’t last long, as it only went 1:08. After the fight, Gravely says he wants to fight two more times in 2022, he is 2-0 this year.
Benoit Saint-Denis defeats Niklas Stolze via Round-Two Submission (rear-naked choke)
Benoit made his UFC debut in a losing effort, but now, he picks up his first UFC victory in beautiful fashion after weathering the storm earlier on and can now jumpstart his UFC career. Post-fight, Saint-Denis calls for a fight on the UFC London card and says he will accept any fight he is given.
Damon Jackson defeats Dan Argueta via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-29)
Damon coming off a short 3 month layoff after a victory, to yet again get another win. He dominated the grappling exchanges of the fight and though he was losing on the feet in the final round, ultimately he pulled out a hard-fought victory and spoiled Dan’s UFC debut.
Joe Solecki defeats Alex da Silva Coelho via majority decision (28-28, 28-27, 29-27)
Joe Solecki is jumping back on track after his first UFC loss last time around, now, he picks up a decision victory in a very close fight. During the second round, Alex had a point taken from him which seemingly was the deciding factor in the fight.
Karolina Kowalkiewicz defeats Felice Herrig via Round-Two Submission (rear-naked choke)
Karolina snaps her five fight losing streak and picks up her first finish victory in UFC. Back in 2018, Karolina defeated Felice in their first meeting and she does it again. Post-fight, Karolina says she is back, she changed her whole life and the way she trains to get back on track and she did just that. Also, Felice Herrig was given mic time, where she announced she is retiring. Best of luck to whatever Felice does next.
Alonzo Menifield defeats Askar Mozharov via First-Round TKO (elbow strikes)
Alonzo picks up the win with some nasty ground and pound elbows in the crucifix position. Menifield is coming off of a December loss, but with a dominating win like this, it seems he is steadily getting back on track. After the fight, Alonzo says he will continue to prove himself in this division.
Ode Osbourne defeats Zarrukh Adashev via First-Round Knockout (punch)
Ode picks up a victory with a devastating right hook that dropped his opponent like a Boulder. That’s now two wins in a row for Ode Osbourne with his new team in syndicate. Ode says he feels like he’s finally found his home with his new gym and now he wants Jeff Molina who won earlier on tonight.
Karine Silva defeats Poliana Botelho via First-Round Submission (d’arce choke)
Karine Silva makes her UFC debut in epic fashion as she runs through veteran Poliana and makes her submit with a d’arce.
Lucas Almeida defeats Mike Trizano via Third-Round TKO (punches)
Lucas Almeida wins his UFC debut with a devastating knockdown, then finishes him off with the ground and pound. Dana White himself has praised Lucas in the past, now everyone can see why. Post-fight, Lucas says he is here to clear out the division.
Movsar Evloev defeats Dan Ige via unanimous decision (30-26, 30-27, 30-27)
Movsar gets a dominating victory, that’s a 16-0 undefeated record now and he is looking to have a number ten to his name in the rankings. He looked very good on the ground and coasted through Dan. Post-fight, Movsar says he wants a big name opponent so he can get a title shot. He calls out Arnold Allen, and says he would like to fight him in his home of London England.
Alexander Volkov defeats Jairzinho Rozenstruik via Round-One TKO (punches)
Alexander Volkov lost in the first round in march to Tom Aspinall, only to make the quick three month turn around to get a finish of his own in the first round. Volkov had Rozenstruik up against the cage, letting his fists fly before the stoppage came. What a return statement made by “Drago”. Post-Fight, Alexander says he is ready for any challengers at any time.
