AJ Lee was an important part of why WWE’s women’s division is as successful as it is.
Lee held the Diva’s title for an unprecedented reign at the time. AJ retired following Wrestlemania 31, leaving the WWE. It was speculated at the time the reason for AJ walking away from wrestling was because of the constant CM Punk chants that followed her wherever she went.
While speaking to Renee Paquette on The Sessions, AJ Lee talked about her WWE exit. She revealed that Vince McMahon told her that the door is always open for a return.
“He was very kind. He was just like, ‘the door’s always open if you want to come back.’ and that to me was I don’t know like I know it’s different for some people, but to me, it was so important to go out on top on my own terms.”

Time will tell if AJ will ever return to the ring, but it is nice to know WWE are keeping the door open for her to make a future return.
