Drew McIntyre Shares The Advice Undertaker Gave Him

A piece of advice from the Deadman.

Drew McIntyre has been on a hell of a run since he won the 2020 Royal Rumble match. Holding the WWE title twice and main eventing WrestleMania, Drew has come into his own as a main eventer in the WWE, particularly as a babyface. However, his main roster run began with him being a vicious heel and at one point would square off with The Undertaker and Roman Reigns.

While speaking to Sports Illustrated, Drew McIntyre revealed the important piece of advice The Undertaker gave him.

“As Undertaker once told me, ‘Don’t play the wrestler. Be the wrestler. At the time, ’Taker was my mentor, a role assigned by Vince [McMahon], and I had no idea what he was talking about. I was a wrestler, obviously, right? Now, almost 15 years later, I have a much different appreciation for his lessons. I know who I am every time I step out there, and I know what I’m aiming for, and that’s Roman.”
