AEW Double Or Nothing 2022 Did 155,000 Buys

A healthy buy rate for such a promising PPV in AEW.

A lot has been made about buy rates in professional wrestling lately. With WWE’s deal with Peacock and how the WWE Network remains in the rest of the world, WWE have largely done away with the PPV concept, now calling them “Premium Live Events”. AEW on the other hand have kept the PPV concept for their major events.

News 4 Jax confirmed with Tony Khan the number of buys that were purchased for Double Or Nothing.

AEW CEO Tony Khan said the May 29 Las Vegas show at T-Mobile Arena had $1.1 million in ticket sales, the biggest gate revenue they have generated, as well as an estimated 155,000 buys on pay-per-view.

“It was great to go back to the city where it all began for us. Three years later we came back and we have kept growing our audience,” Khan said. “Every event has had year-over-year growth. We have a great group of wrestlers that have had so many amazing matches. There’s so much more to come.”

The number is up from AEW Double or Nothing 2021, which drew between 134,000 and 140,000 buys. AEW Revolution 2022, the event before Double or Nothing, drew between 165,000 and 170,000 buys. Double Or Nothing 2022 was headlined by Hangman Page and Cm Punk.
