A new era has begun in the UFC’s Light Heavyweight division with a brand new champion crowned tonight at UFC 275.
Jiri Prochazka made his way into the on a 10-fight win streak in Rizin and was the inaugural Rizin Light Heavyweight champion, after stacking wins over Volkan Oezdemir and Dominick Reyes, he earned a title bout against Glover Teixeira in just his 3rd fight in the UFC.
A fight of the year contender, it was a battle from start to finish with plenty of moments where it looked like it was going to end It was in the fifth where Prochazka would sink in the choke and win to become the new UFC Light Heavyweight champion.
The UFC could have big plans for the 29 year old, a rematch against the former champ Teixeira or a bout against Jan Blachowicz, it’s one thing to win the championship, it’s another when it comes to defending it and we will see what happens next for Prochazka
