Hiroshi Tanahashi defeated Hirooki Goto at NJPW Dominion to earn his spot in the title match. Last week, Jon Moxley defeated Kyle O’Reilly to earn his spot into the interim championship match after current AEW champion CM Punk was sidelined with injury.
Jon Moxley has been calling out Hiroshi Tanahashi for years since starting with NJPW. Now, the two will clash at AEW’s Forbidden Door. But first, AEW President Tony Khan announced that the two competitors will come face-to-face on the 6/14 edition of AEW Dynamite. Tony announced it via tweet, as seen below.
Tony previously announced that Dax Harwood wills take on Will Ospreay in one-on-one action for tomorrow’s Dynamite, as well as The Young Bucks challenging Jurassic Express for the AEW World Tag Team Championships in a ladder match and Britt Baker vs Toni Storm.
