Sheamus Wants To Face Gunther For The Intercontinental Championship
Sheamus wants to become a Grand Slam Champion.
Sheamus has had a widely successful career in pro wrestling since debuting for the WWE in 2009. He has held nearly every championship he’s sought after in the WWE, including multiple world championships. At present, Sheamus is a member of the SmackDown roster and as such one of his main goals as a member of that roster is to become Intercontinental Champion.
Currently, that championship is held by Gunther who won the title last week on Friday Night Smackdown by defeating former champion Ricochet for the title. While speaking with The Five Count, Sheamus revealed that he wants to square off against Gunther to win the Intercontinental Champion and become a grand slam champion. He also just wants to slap Gunther around.
“Honestly, I want to wrestle whatever the IC champion is. That’s my goal and first priority to get the Intercontinental title. Otherwise, what talent-wise goes, there’s a lot of guys coming in, you got Walter (Gunther) coming in. He’s a good hard-hitting prospect, like it’s good to get in there and slap him around.”
Sheamus to The Five Count
Time will tell if Sheamus will challenge for the Intercontinental Championship anytime soon, he will be looking to make sure he qualifies for Money In The Bank following him and Drew McIntyre’s qualifier on Friday last week ending in a double DQ.
