Maria Kanellis Hopes Vince McMahon Controversy Leads To Positive Change In The WWE For Women
Maria Kanellis hopes change is coming in the WWE.
Early on Friday morning it was announced Vince McMahon will be taking a step back from his roles as the WWE CEO and WWE Chairperson, handing over the reigns temporarily to his daughter Stephanie McMahon. Vince is currently being investigated by the WWE Board regarding a three million dollar hush money payment and further misconduct with a paralegal who signed with the company in 2019.
Maria Kanellis took to Twitter to voice her opinion on the matter. She said there are a lot of good people employed by WWE. Rather than wish for its downfall, she’d like to see it become a better place for those people to work.
“Let’s not wish that [for WWE to burn to the ground]. There are a lot of good people that work there. WWE employs hundreds of people. Let’s just hope the company is bought out by someone/company that will treat WWE like a business and not a boys club. Health insurance, retirement plans, parental leave”
Vacation days, child care, and a clear direction for the future. This is going to be an anxiety filled time for a lot of people that work there. Hopefully, the COMPANY CULTURE will change. And people will still have jobs they love to feed their families.”

Maria was released from the WWE in 2020 along with her husband Mike Bennett. Time will tell if the change that Maria hopes for will happen within the WWE, but it is likely things will not change until the boards investigation is over.
