AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door takes place this Sunday, June 26 live on Pay-Per-View. Now, a stipulation has been added to one of the matches.
Chris Jericho, Minoru Suzuki & Sammy Guevara will battle Eddie Kingston, Wheeler Yuta & Shota Umino in a six-man tag match this Sunday. Now, it was announced on Rampage that the winner of the match will get the advantage going into Blood and Guts on Wednesday, June 29th on AEW Dynamite.
As of now, the participates are Chris Jericho, Jake Hager, Sammy Guevara, Matt Menard, Angelo Parker and Daniel Garcia taking on Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley, Santana, Ortiz, Wheeler Yuta & a Mystery partner for this twelve man war. The match was made official during the 6/1/22 edition of Dynamite after the gauntlet was previously laid down and Moxley accepted.
The advantage is huge going into a match of this magnitude, with the winning team basically having a handicap match throughout the match until the final participate enters, therefore the team with the advantage will enter the match first, starting at a one on one but soon enough a two on one advantage will take place. Once it’s evened up with two on two, it’ll be three on two soon after and so on and so forth. Once all competitors have entered the cage, then a team can try for the win. Until then, it’s an all out war, wearing your opponents down until there’s nothing left.
As far as the mystery opponent, we know Bryan Danielson was supposed to be in the match. But, after being injured, he will no longer take part in Forbidden Door or Blood and Guts. Bryan did however, hand pick the mystery partner who will also go head to head with Zack Sabre Jr at Forbidden Door. Sunday night we will find out who the mystery opponent/partner will be and then on Wednesday it’s time for Blood and Guts!
